✨ Project Overview

Context

Cockpit is the main interface that allows users to create, deploy, and manage cloud resources on Outscale. It centralizes cloud resources and simplifies infrastructure monitoring, control, and management for customers.

To meet new SecNumCloud requirements and rising expectations around usability and performance, Cockpit V2 was launched as a major redesign.

Challenges

The first version of Cockpit (V1) had several limitations:

• Tech constraints: The V1 architecture was outdated and incompatible with SecNumCloud certification.
• UX friction: the interface had not been designed with a global design vision. Fragmented interfaces and lack of global design vision led to non-intuitive user journeys.

Objectives

The goal was to deliver a first usable version of Cockpit V2 that met security requirements and supported the most critical workflows :

• Ensure SecNumCloud compliance by strengthening the technical architecture and security mechanisms
• Improve the user experience by making key workflows clearer, more consistent, and easier to use

My rôles

My technical background enabled me to take end-to-end ownership of the product, bridging the gap between design and development

• Discovery leadership : define the MVP scope based on research from scratch
• Design ownership : Lead the design of complex features
• Delivery contribution**:** write user stories and support implementation through delivery
• Cross-functional coordination : align UX decisions with technical constraints across teams
